Supporters Invited To Share Singing Section Feedback

Leicester City are now inviting feedback from match-attending supporters on its current Singing Section trial, with the deadline for survey completions extended to Tuesday 4 April.

Running for the duration of the 2022/23 season, the SK1 Singing Section trial is an initiative driven by the Club’s close work with supporters to identify methods of enhancing the home matchday atmosphere.

With the 2022/23 campaign-long trial now past its halfway stage, the Club is gauging views on the level of success of the trial and its perceived impact on stadium atmosphere via an online survey distributed by email.

Season Ticket Holders and Members that have not received the survey need to opt in to ‘Club News’ and/or ‘Ticket Information’ in the ‘Your Preferences section of their LCFC.com account by 6pm on Thursday 30 March to receive it.

The deadline for survey completion has been extended to 6pm on Tuesday 4 April.

Background

Following a series of Singing Section trials at cup matches during the 2021/22 season, Leicester City undertook a period of consultation with supporters to review the success of the trial and its potential long-term implementation at King Power Stadium.

Singing Section trials were undertaken at the request of match-attending supporters to give like-minded fans an opportunity to congregate in a defined area of the stadium to provide sustained and coordinated vocal support for the team.

Trials began in January 2020 with an FA Cup Third Round tie against Wigan Athletic and were resumed for four games during the 2021/22 season – domestic cup ties against Brighton & Hove Albion and Watford and UEFA Europa Conference League ties against Rennes and AS Roma.

During each trial, the Club has tested different locations, configurations, and ticket sales processes, to establish the appetite for such a section, its bearing on all match-attending supporters and its impact on the matchday atmosphere.

What fans told us

Supporter feedback gauged before the 2022/23 season indicated that 90 per cent of all respondents were in favour of the Singing Section becoming a regular feature at King Power Stadium, with 87 per cent supporting its introduction for all league and cup matches.

Through survey responses and workshop discussions, the Club was able to gauge further views on the optimal positioning of a Singing Section and the potential reconfiguration that would be necessary to create an environment that would maximise its impact.

Feedback on the trial so far

Throughout the process of implementing the trial, the Club has maintained transparency regarding the potential longevity of a Singing Section and believes now is an appropriate time to gather further feedback from participants and also supporters who are aware of this initiative.

The Club remains committed to giving the section every possible opportunity to be a success, to the benefit of the team and the experience of all supporters in the stadium.

Your feedback is invaluable in shaping the LCFC matchday experience for seasons to come, so those supporters yet to complete the email survey are kindly requested to do so. Season Ticket Holders and Members that have not received the survey need to opt in to ‘Club News’ and/or ‘Ticket Information’ in the ‘Your Preferences’ section of their LCFC.com account by 6pm on Thursday 30 March to receive it.

Please note that all entries are recorded anonymously.
