Pearson's Injury Update

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson says Ritchie De Laet and Esteban Cambiasso are fit for Burnley’s visit to King Power Stadium on Saturday.

Both players were substituted in the 2-0 Barclays Premier League loss to Crystal Palace at the weekend but initial injury fears have been quashed by the Foxes boss.
There has also been an improvement in Matty Upson’s condition as the former England international recovers from a foot injury while Zoumana Bakayogo has had surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament.
With the clash with Sean Dyche’s men fast approaching, Pearson admits he has plenty of fit players at his disposal – a problem that any manager certainly enjoys having.
He said: “They’re (De Laet and Cambiasso) both training so there’s no problems from the weekend.

“Matty Upson is going outside so he’s making progress but Zoum has had his operation now.
“He’s [Upson] been out a couple of times so it’s promising for him and for us as well because it’s still early days in the season.
“We’re pretty well off for players’ availability at the moment but as we’ve experienced in the past things can change pretty quickly.
“It’s just a case of trying to manage the situation as you go along.
“We’ve got players who are making progress and we’ve got players who are in pretty good nick.”
While City’s first team were playing at Selhurst Park on Saturday, their Development Squad .
On the score sheet for Steve Beaglehole’s men was Gary Taylor-Fletcher – the former Blackpool man converting a Nick Powell knock-down to draw the Under-21s level just after half time.
And Pearson believes it is vital that at any level, his players must give a good account of themselves.
With four first teamers on show in the Under-21s game, he said: “When you’ve got plenty of players available it’s trying to keep a few onside and happy which is never easy but that’s all part and parcel of it.
“You’ve got to look at the likes of Taylor-Fletcher, Albrighton, Powell and Lawrence. They all played for the Under-21s at the weekend and played very well – they applied themselves in a very positive manner.
“I think that’s probably the most important thing.
“They recognise that they’ve got to keep themselves ready for when they get the chance but if they are representing the Club, albeit at Under-21 level, it’s important that they show the right application.
“It’s about them having pride in their own performance and they’ve got to be ready for when their opportunity arises.
“As always it’s a case of trying to select the right players for any given side.”
