Leicester City have today (Friday) extended Michael Keane’s loan spell from Manchester United for a further month.

The 19-year-old central defender will remain with the Foxes until 31 January and will be eligible to play in Saturday’s FA Cup with Budweiser third round tie against Burton Albion.

After returning to fitness in recent weeks, the England Under-19 international was back in the Foxes starting eleven on New Year’s Day, as Nigel Pearson’s men .

The extension of Michael’s loan will make him available for City’s away trips to Bristol City and Cardiff City during January, along with the home games against Middlesbrough and Wolverhampton Wanderers, plus Saturday’s visit of the Brewers.

Jesse Lingard has returned to Old Trafford after making five substitute appearances during his two-month loan spell.
