Drinkwater: Onto The Next Game

Midfielder Danny Drinkwater is keen to put Saturday’s npower Championship defeat away to Peterborough United behind him as focus switches to the FA Cup with Budweiser on Tuesday night.

Ben Marshall gave the Foxes a 1-0 lead against Posh at London Road, however late strikes from Davide Petrucci and Grant McCann stunned the visitors with a 2-1 defeat.

Huddersfield are next up in a fourth round replay though (kick-off 7.30pm), with the winners taking on Wigan at the weekend, and it is certainly a competition Drinkwater is keen to progress in.

“We’re gutted, but it’s onto the next game I suppose,” Drinkwater said.

“It’s about the cup on Tuesday, and then onto the game after that.

“The gaffer won’t allow there to be [a hangover]. That’s one thing he makes certain, that we get on straight away and that’ll start on Monday.

“It’s the FA Cup. We’ve got a good opportunity to get to the next round and hopefully we can take it.”

He added: “We stopped them playing. We knew what they are like at home – they like passing the ball around. We battled well and dug in, it’s just frustrating.

“I’m not one to point fingers, but we’ve done enough to win the game.

“They’ve caught us twice, I don’t know what has happened with the first goal, it’s sloppy. But it’s onto the next game.

“We’re still up there, we’re still second, it’s a missed opportunity, but it’s a positive that we’re still in the same position.”
