Marshall And Wood To Miss Terriers Tie

The Foxes beat the Terriers 6-1 at home in the league earlier this season, but after a 1-1 draw away, the two teams now meet for a third time this year to decide who will face a home clash against Wigan Athletic in the fifth round.

City will be without the scorer of the team’s goal against Peterborough at the weekend, Ben Marshall, who picked up a foot injury in the second half of the 2-1 defeat at London Road

The manager revealed: “Ben has had an x-ray so we’ve ruled out a break.

“We’ll just have to see how he recovers over the next few days, but he sustained it just after he scored.

“He had a chance at the far post, went to shoot and I think kicked the defender’s foot.

“It was a bit of a concern, but he’s a bit sore at the moment and we’re not quite sure when he’ll be available.”

Zak Whitbread and Sean St Ledger are not likely to return for the fixture – the winners of which will face Wigan at home in the fifth round on Sunday 17 February.

Striker Chris Wood will also miss out, but Pearson is hoping for a swift return to action for the New Zealand international, adding: “He has a knock on his knee. It’s not something we’re too concerned about but he won’t be considered for Tuesday.

“Hopefully he will be available for the next league game and that’s what we’re looking at.

“I’ll make some changes, but I’ll make changes that will give us the opportunity to win the game.

“We don’t have a big squad in which you’ve got a lot of fringe players. We’ve got a tight squad of good players, and I’ll be looking to freshen it up where I need to but essentially we’re looking to get the side right so we can win the game.”
