U18 Report: Leicester City 5 Norwich City 0
Leicester City's Under-18s recorded their third straight victory on Saturday with a dominant display against Norwich City at Belvoir Drive.
Danny Rowe, Brandon Fox, Hamza Choudhury, Keenan King and Harvey Barnes were all on-target in a 5-0 win, continuing a promising start to the campaign for the young Foxes.
Having hit the post early-on through the lively Fox and enjoyed the majority of the play in the first half, City hit the front when Rowe capitalised on a defensive mix-up to slot in an easy finish.
And the second half saw the hosts increase their control on proceedings with some clinical finishing.
Fox curled home a second after City had regained the ball high up the pitch, before Choudhury drove into the box and slotted in number three.
Keenan King finished powerfully to the 'keeper's right to make it 4-0, before Harvey Barnes rounded off the scoring after a good team move on the edge of the box.
"We created a lot of good chances throughout the game and clearly capitalised more in the second half, so it was a good afternoon's work," Academy Director Jon Rudkin told lcfc.com.
"Norwich are a good footballing side and were a considerable threat on the counter-attack, so to keep a clean sheet was another real positive for the boys.
"It's our first win at home and our fourth overall, so from a league perspective it's been a good start to the season, but, more importantly, the performances have been very good.
"There's been some really positive play during the opening weeks of the season, while today we also had a few players missing on international duty, so for the team perform in the manner they did was pleasing."
The victory took City's Youth Team record for the season to four wins, two draws and just one defeat - a record they will be looking to strengthen next Saturday when they travel to Aston Villa.
