Beaglehole: Stronger Than Ever

City Development Squad boss Steve Beaglehole says his side are confident going into their Barclays U21 Premier League clash with Fulham on Monday evening (KO 7pm).

Fresh from a 4-2 win over Blaby & Whetstone in the Westerby Cup Winners’ Cup final on Tuesday, the Foxes now face a tough task against the London side.
The youngsters have played just one game in the league due to postponements – a narrow 3-2 defeat to Everton last month – while some sides have played as many as three fixtures.
Leicester’s U21s beat Fulham 3-1 last season to spark a remarkable run of seven victories out of eight league games and Beaglehole believes that his men can draw from that win.
Speaking exclusively to Foxes Player after the win against Blaby & Whetstone, he said: “Fulham have got some excellent players – their youth team got to the final of the FA Youth Cup last year against Chelsea and ran them very close and possibly should have won it.
“The group has moved up and people keep saying to me that they shouldn’t be that strong because a lot of their Under-21s have gone into their first team, but they’ve got a great bunch under them.

"They’ve won against Everton who beat us and they’ve drawn away at Southampton so it’ll be a tough game.
“I think the lads are confident – they should be confident because it’s a stronger squad than last season.
“The good run started at Fulham last year – it was a big game, they were unbeaten at that time at home and they were top of the league.”
What is set to be an entertaining and competitive game will be further boosted by City playing at the first team’s hunting ground.
And Beaglehole is hoping that the occasion draws plenty of support for the Foxes in a crucial tie that could kick-start their season.
He continued: “I hope we get a lot of people down next Monday because these games are attractive games.
“There will be some good football played and we’re determined to do well like we did last season.
“I hope we can continue with a win against them again like we did last year.”

Tickets are priced at £3 for Adults and £1 for Concessions (in the West Stand only). Kick-off is 7pm.
