Ulloa Not Setting Goal Targets

In-form Leicester City striker Leo Ulloa isn’t getting too carried away despite scoring his third goal in four Barclays Premier League games on Saturday afternoon.

The summer signing from Brighton and Hove Albion put himself in the right place at the right time to turn in Paul Konchesky’s cross against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium midway through the second half – handing the Foxes a first victory of the campaign.

The man from Argentina has also netted against Everton and Arsenal this term, but far from setting any targets for his first season in the top-flight, he’s just happy to be helping his team-mates.

“It is very good for me but it is about the team,” said Ulloa. “It is important we got the first win but now we have to work even harder for the next game.

“After the international break it is difficult and we didn’t play well in the first half but in the second half we created more and played much better. It is good that we got that first win.

“We changed the mentality and we had the ball. We played well.

“We need to rest now and then start building up for the next game against Manchester United. It is a big game and a difficult game.”

Ulloa’s remarkable goal return is something that the man himself is eager to play down, but a feat that he puts down to hard work.

He added: “I don’t think about setting myself goals targets, I just think about helping the team. It helps that I score goals. I work every day to help the team.

“I am happy that I have started so well and I am not surprised by the goals because I work very hard all the time for that. I am happy for this moment when I could do well. But now I am looking to the next game and hopefully score more goals.

“I like to play for Leicester and my team-mates. I am enjoying my time here and I want to help the club to do well. I am enjoying myself here.”
