Morgan Looking To Extend Home Run

Captain Wes Morgan says City need to dust themselves down quickly following their defeat to Wolves and get their minds focused on Wednesday’s visit of Burnley.

A 2-1 reverse at Molineux on Sunday made it three away games without a win for the Foxes this season, despite some promising performances.

But Nigel Pearson’s side have taken maximum points from their two league games at King Power Stadium and will have their sights set on maintaining that record against Eddie Howe’s Clarets.

“We were all disappointed with the result on Sunday, but we have to go again because we have another game on Wednesday,” Wes told Foxes Player following the Wolves defeat.

“We need to pick things up, focus on that game and not feel sorry for ourselves because there are another three points for us to grab.”

Two avoidable set-piece goals ultimately proved City’s downfall in the Black Country, as Wolves established a two-goal lead in the first half that would always prove difficult to recover from.

But while Paul Konchesky’s rasping drive was all the Foxes had to show for a spirited second-half fight-back, Morgan says there are positives to draw from City’s response after half-time.

“You can practise set-pieces all week long, but it’s about doing it on the day and we didn’t do that,” Morgan admitted.

“We’ll work hard again to put that right, look for other points we can improve on and it shouldn’t happen again.

“It was a frustrating first half; we know we’re much better than that. There were a couple of misplaced passes and some situations in the final third when things just broke down. But I thought we edged it in the second and had some great chances to get something out of the game.

“We have to look at the positives from these away games – we haven’t got any points but there have been some good elements to our performances.

“With a bit of luck and by taking a few chances, I’m sure we can get our first away win.”
