Moore Calls For 12th Man Against United

Leicester City star Liam Moore is hoping that a sold out King Power Stadium can give the Foxes an extra edge when they take on Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.

Moore and his defensive colleagues face a particularly tough task against a plethora of attacking talent from the Red Devils – including the likes of Wayne Rooney, Angel Di Maria, and Robin Van Persie.

However Moore is relishing the prospect of testing himself against the best, and with not a spare seat in the house, the Academy graduate is aiming to spring a surprise.

“It’s another big game – it’s a massive test for us but that’s what we signed up for when we joined the Premier League,” Moore told Foxes Player.

“Every game has been tough so we don’t expect anything different. We had it (a full house) a few times last season and we’ll have it a lot more this season.

“It’s like a 12th man for us when we’re getting into the last 20 minutes of the game and we’re tired. Against Stoke the fans egged us on that little bit more.

“At King Power Stadium I think teams will come here and find they won’t get an easy game.

“We’ve shown that already to Everton and Arsenal and we need to do that to Manchester United at the weekend.

“We’re a team that’s not just going to sit back and worry about what they’re going to do – we’re going to set out or stall and show what we can do and give them a few things to think about.”

The momentum in Leicester City’s campaign is building, particularly following a first clean sheet of the season at Stoke last weekend. Moore played a big role in that, and is keen to run an equally tight ship against United.

He added: “As defenders we definitely set out to get clean sheets – it’s taken a little while to get one but we put our bodies on the line every game and if we do that on Sunday there’s no reason why we can’t keep one.

“It’s just the same as I did last year in the Championship – nothing changes when it comes to defending – you just have to stop the ball going in the back of your own net.

“We’re going to work really hard – we’re going to go out there and keep those world class names quiet and just go about our own business.”
