Moore Features In England U21s Win

Leicester City’s Liam Moore helped England Under-21s all but secure top spot in their Euro 2015 qualifying group with a convincing 3-1 win over Wales at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium.
Having already won two caps for the Young Lions as a substitute, Moore was handed his first start by manager Gareth Southgate, and didn’t disappoint with an assured performance in defence.

Moore forged an impressive central defensive pairing with former City team-mate and Manchester United defender Michael Keane, although it was Norwich City’s Nathan Redmond who stole the headlines with a hat-trick.

The winger put England in front on 18 minutes when he drilled in a low shot from the left hand side before a Gwion Edwards header dragged Wales back to level terms.

Redmond had England in front before half time with another neat finish, and completed his treble in stoppage time to hand Southgate’s men an impressive victory in Group 1.

Moore will now stay with the Under-21s group as they prepare to take on teams from all over the world in the Toulon Tournament later this week, starting with a clash against Qatar on Thursday evening.

Fixtures against Brazil, South Korea and Colombia will follow for Moore and his team-mates, as he looks to crown a sensational season with yet more silverware.

Keep an eye on for all Liam’s progress with England Under-21s.
