Marc Albrighton believes Leicester City can reflect positively on Saturday’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Middlesbrough at King Power Stadium.

While frustrated with the overall result, Albrighton credited his side for grabbing a last-minute equaliser against a well-drilled Boro outfit.

The Foxes had to come from behind twice in the entertaining encounter. Riyad Mahrez’s penalty cancelled out Alvaro Negredo’s opener, before the Spanish frontman struck again inside the final 20 minutes.

But Islam Slimani’s injury-time spot kick secured a deserved point for City, who responded well following back-to-back defeats in the Premier League.

“We played well in parts, but it wasn’t our best performance,” said Albrighton. “I didn’t think we deserved to lose the game and I think the goal at the end could be a massive one.

“It could be a big goal for us because it just shows to people that we’re still fighting until the end and we never give up - that’s been our motto for years and we’re going to keep it that way.

“That’s the way you’ve got to do things in this league and we’ve managed to do that, so it could be a bonus point.”

While City endured a tough start to the match, they were much improved after Mahrez’s leveller, and Albrighton felt the Foxes were unfortunate to go behind for a second time in the game.

He added: “You’ve got to start well and that’s the main thing. You’ve got to take it to the other team, especially when you’re playing at home.

“We didn’t do that enough – we let them have time on the ball – and they knocked it around off them and we just sat off them.

“After about half an hour, we got a grip of the game and half-time probably came at a bad time for us.

“We need to keep our cool now and pull ourselves away from it. Something isn’t quite clicking at the moment – we don’t know what, but there are so many tough games in this league.

“We’ll keep trying and look for the next win.”
