Foxes Gearing Up For International Duty

- A number of Leicester City stars could see action in 2018 World Cup qualifying 

- Andy King will have the chance to break a Club record if he features for Wales 

Leicester City could see a healthy representation on the international stage, with 11 senior players earning call-ups for their nations over the past few days. 

There is the potential for three Foxes to take to the field when Nigeria host Algeria on Saturday 12 November in Africa’s 2018 World Cup qualification rounds. 

While Ahmed Musa’s Nigeria will be hoping to build on their opening victory over Zambia, Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani could feature for the Desert Foxes, who drew with Cameroon in their first Group B fixture. 

On the same continent, City duo Jeffrey Schlupp and Daniel Amartey have both been selected in Ghana’s squad to face Egypt. 

The Black Stars drew against Uganda in their maiden Group E qualifier and now prepare to take on table-topping Egypt on Sunday 13 November. 

Over in European World Cup qualification, Jamie Vardy and Danny Drinkwater could see action for England, who take on Scotland on Friday 11 November at Wembley Stadium. 

Aiming to build on their unbeaten start in Group F, the Three Lions then host a friendly fixture – again at Wembley - against Spain on Tuesday 15 November. 

Having equalled John O’Neill’s 39 international appearances made while a Leicester City player against Georgia in October, Wales midfielder Andy King could break the Club record on Saturday. 

Chris Coleman’s men entertain Group D leaders Serbia at Cardiff City Stadium on what could prove to be a special occasion for the Academy graduate. 

Shinji Okazaki, who goes in search for his 50th international goal, will hope to feature as Japan contest two fixtures in the space of four days, with the first an international friendly with Oman on Friday 11 November. 

Japan then welcome Saudi Arabia to the Saitama Stadium on Tuesday 15 November, as Okazaki’s nation continue their World Cup qualification campaign. 

City winger Bartosz Kapustka will hope to help Poland continue their unbeaten start in European World Cup qualifying Group E when they face an away fixture in Romania on Friday 11 November. 

Poland then host Slovenia in an international friendly clash on Monday 14 November, as Kaspustka looks to add to his 13 caps for his nation. 

Wideman Demarai Gray could again feature for England Under-21s over the next few days, as the young Lions continue preparations the Euro U21 Finals. 

Aidy Boothroyd’s men first face Italy at St. Mary’s Stadium on Thursday 10 November, before a trip to Paris to take on France on Monday 14 November. 

Another youngster that could feature for England youth is defender Darnell Johnson, who will target more international experience with the Under-19s side when they continue their Euro U19 Championship qualifiers. 

Home clashes with Luxembourg on Thursday 10 November and Wales on Saturday 12 November are followed by Tuesday 15 November’s trip to Greece. 

Meanwhile, attacker Faiq Bolkiah could see international action for Brunei Darassalam, who are participating in the AFC Solidarity Cup in Malaysia. 

Finally, Academy prospect Kyle Gruno has been invited to train with USA’s Under-18s squad over the next few days at the National Training Camp in Sunrise, Florida.
