Winger Demarai Gray hopes his side can continue the momentum from their 2015/16 Premier League-winning campaign ahead of Leicester City’s International Champions Cup clash with Celtic.

The Foxes stormed to their first ever top flight title with some sensational performances under Claudio Ranieri, eventually finishing 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

While the priority is to prepare for the new campaign, Gray believes building up a string of productive results can only be positive ahead of their Premier League opener against Hull City, starting at Celtic Park.

Gray told LCFC TV: “Obviously it’s going to be a good game. The tournament will give us a good experience. We’re looking forward to playing against big teams.

“We always want to express ourselves. We’ve already showed everyone what we can do. It’s important that we keep the same momentum with what we finished on last year. It’s important to that you play well in pre season and take that into your first game of the season.

“Pre season is a chance for us to try and put a picture in the manager’s head. It’s competitive, but we’re a good team and everyone works for each other. Everyone wants to play, but whoever starts deserves it.”

Ranieri’s outfit trained on the Celtic Park pitch on Friday evening ahead of Saturday’s game, and Gray admitted he’s looking forward to playing at the famous 60,000-seater stadium.

He added: “Everyone is fine – it was a light session and it let us get a nice feel of the stadium and the pitch. It’s something new for a lot of the lads. It’s a very nice stadium with a good pitch and it’s got a lot of history.

“It’ll be a little taster of what it’s like to play in the Champions League as well. It was a good experience and now, I’m looking forward to playing.”
