Demarai Gray says Leicester City will not dwell on Saturday’s 4-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Foxes found themselves 4-0 down at half-time after goals from Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba capped off a clinical first-half performance from the Red Devils.

A change in personnel at the break saw Claudio Ranieri introduce both Andy King and Demarai Gray, with the latter scoring a superb 25-yard strike to reduce the deficit in Manchester on the hour mark.

But Jose Mourniho’s men stood firm to halt any kind of City comeback and while disappointed, Gray explained that his side will learn from the defeat.

“Obviously it was a difficult first half and to go down the way we did was disappointing,” Gray told LCFC TV after the game. “It’s something that everyone will hold their hands up to and it’s definitely something we can learn from. We’ll move on from it.

“It was five minutes of madness in the first half which knocked us down but I thought it was important that in the second half we got back together and were more compact.

“We made a few changes and it was a better performance in the second half so all we can do is regroup and learn from it now.

“There’s always a game round the corner, so over the next few days we’ll work on a few things.”

A positive on the day proved to be Gray’s eye-catching effort and the wideman revealed he was happy to get off the mark for the Club.

He added: “It’s my job to come on and be positive. Obviously I’ve cut inside and shot – that’s what the manager told me to do and that’s part of my game.

“It paid off and it was nice to get my first goal. It was a special moment for me and I need to keep doing that when I get my opportunities.”
