As Leicester City go in search of their first win of the Premier League season, midfielder Andy King insists the team are ready for whatever Swansea City throw at them.

The Foxes showed flashes of their brilliant best in a 0-0 draw with Arsenal last weekend and with another King Power Stadium fixture against the Swans to look forward to, King wants the team to continue that momentum.

City overcame Swansea 4-0 in the same fixture towards the end of last season at a time when they were pushing hard for the league title they so brilliantly won, but King knows that the Swans will be a different prospect this time.

They boast quality throughout their squad with a style of play that can cause any team problems, but despite this, the City midfielder believes there are plenty of reasons for his team to find encouragement heading into the match.

“It’s a home game so we need to be confident with the support we’ve got here and the momentum we picked up here last year,” explained King. “It’s important to keep that going.

“We had a good performance against Arsenal and were unfortunate not to come away with three points so everyone is chomping at the bit to get the first win of the season going into the international break.

“They’re a good footballing side and the football they play is some of the best in the league. They keep the ball well and we’re going to have to be ready for that, hitting them the way we can. It’s going to be a tough game but one we’re more than ready for. We want to try to get our first three points of the season.

“We know as professionals when is a good time to get a win, but you want to try to win every game, whether it’s going into an international break or a normal week.

“It’s important that we try to get the first three points on the board as soon as possible and start to move towards the end of the table that we want to be at.”
