Local Los Angeles youngsters got up close and personal with Leicester City stars and the Premier League trophy on Tuesday at the StubHub Center.

The budding young LA Galaxy footballers were also treated to a special coaching session just a few hundred yards from where Claudio Ranieri was putting his Premier League winners through their paces.

Club legends Emile Heskey and Alan Birchenall were both in attendance as the LCFC Community Trust’s coaches helped set up some special drills for the kids.

But there were more surprises to come, as the youngsters were soon joined by Leicester City pair Ulloa and Hernandez. The pair answered questions from the group before getting stuck into the session.

Along with Heskey, the boys were clearly impressed by what they saw from the players across all the age groups, while there were also plenty of opportunities for photographs on what proved to be a highly enjoyable event for everyone involved.

Perhaps the highlight for the youngsters was the sight of the Premier League trophy, with the players desperate to get their picture with it before their session got underway.

Meanwhile over on the first team training pitch the pace picked up yet again with the team giving it maximum effort across a tough double morning and afternoon session in the sunshine.

Temperatures and intensity continued to rise as the squad followed the expert guidance of City’s coaches to show the manager why they should be in his thoughts for the season opener.

The first session ended in a series of small-sided games before the players settled down for lunch in one of the lounges at the StubHub Center – overlooking the pitch that they will be playing on this coming weekend.

Preparations for that game against Paris Saint-Germain then continued in the afternoon with a more tactics-based session while both Hernandez and Ulloa joined the watching media for a chat about their hopes for the coming season in a series of interviews.

Wednesday again looks set to be a busy one for the team, some of whom will be heading out to catch a baseball game at the LA Dodgers stadium. Follow LCFC.com for all the latest.
