Leicester City Football Club can confirm that defender Liam Moore has joined Championship side Reading on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old centre back made a total of 67 first team appearances for the Foxes since graduating from the Club’s Academy, scoring one goal, in a 2-0 win over Wigan at King Power Stadium in 2013.

A powerful and versatile defender, Moore’s time at Leicester City has seen him form part of Championship and Premier League-winning squad under Nigel Pearson and Claudio Ranieri respectively.

Moore’s consistent and commanding displays during City’s 2013/14 Championship title-winning season saw him win the Football League’s Player of the Month Award for September 2013 and underline what he can bring to Jaap Stam’s promotion hopefuls.

He could make his debut for the Royals this Saturday as they play host to Chris Hughton’s Brighton and Hove Albion in the Championship before tackling MK Dons in another home clash in the EFL Cup.

Alongside his playing time with the Foxes, Moore has picked up extensive Football League experience with loan spells at Bradford City, Brentford and Bristol City, while his top-flight debut came against Everton on the opening day of the 2014/15 campaign.

Moore’s most recent outing for the Foxes came in August 2015 during a 4-1 League Cup victory over Bury, before a 10-game loan spell with the Robins in the Championship.

Liam has been with the Foxes since the age of seven and leaves the Football Club with the best wishes of everybody he has worked with as he embarks upon the next chapter in his career.

We thank Liam for his years of hard work and look forward to welcoming him back as either a visiting player or friend of the Club soon.
