Wes Morgan is confident Leicester City are “moving in the right direction” after collecting six points from Liverpool and Hull City to go five clear of the Premier League bottom three.

The Foxes have enjoyed a successful week and are now out in Dubai undertaking some warm weather training to prepare for the UEFA Champions League last-16 second leg tie against Sevilla this month.

But Morgan says City have not lost sight of their duties domestically and remains focussed on gaining a good return from crucial league matches against West Ham United, Stoke City and Sunderland.

Following the 3-1 success over Hull on Saturday, the Foxes captain said: "We still have a little work to do. It is not all done-and-dusted but we are moving in the right direction, and that is a positive thing.

"It has been positive. We have picked up our performances and we are doing well. We just want to concentrate on keeping doing what we are doing and hopefully we will finish the season strong.”

City overcame the Tigers courtesy of strikes by Christian Fuchs and Riyad Mahrez before an own goal from Tom Huddlestone in the latter stages made sure of the result following an opener from Sam Clucas and Morgan was enthused by the nature of their comeback.

"We are just taking each game as it comes,” Morgan added. “We want to go out there and first of all battle, work hard and then the quality will come through. I think you saw that with Riyad's goal. It was fantastic.

"Hopefully we can go on a run and keep up the good work. Last season, Vards and Riyad showed what they were capable of all throughout. It has not gone their way as much this season, but they've produced the goods of late and hopefully they can continue.”
