Leicester City Under-18s picked up an admirable 1-1 draw away to Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre on Saturday afternoon.

Owen Moore’s opener in the 45th minute for the hosts was levelled by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s second half penalty to earn a share of the spoils for Trevor Peake’s young Foxes.

Brighton started well and could have broken the deadlock early on when an Archie Davies header was glanced inches wide following a dangerous Max Sanders cross.

A corner on the stroke of half time proved to be City’s Achilles heel with Moore latching onto an in-swinging cross to give the Seagulls a slender advantage going into the break.

Leicester emerged after the interval with their tails up, however, and levelled the arrears when Rian O’Sullivan was adjudged to have fouled Thakgalo-Khanya Leshabela in the area.

Dewsbury-Hall duly converted from 12 yards to give Peake’s side a valuable point on the South Coast ahead of the trip to face Reading on Saturday 3 December.
