Leicester City Under-18s fell to a 2-1 defeat to Reading on Saturday afternoon with substitute Christopher Elliott getting on the scoresheet for the young Foxes.

Trevor Peake’s side went into the Premier League U18 clash on the back of a noteworthy 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend but were unable to follow it up with another positive result.

Joel Rollinson scored the opener for the Royals inside two minutes when he intercepted the ball in the centre of the pitch before galloping through the City midfield and finishing tidily.

The hosts doubled their advantage midway through the second period with Cameron Green capitalising on a loose ball in the area before converting to secure a 2-0 lead.

City came to life in the latter stages, however, as Elliott stepped up within a minute of Reading’s second to half the deficit and set up a grandstand finish in Berkshire.
