Ben Petty praised the Development Squad for putting in a determined second-half performance to beat Reading 3-2 at Belvoir Drive on Friday.

The Foxes made it five Premier League 2 games without defeat after coming from behind twice to secure their second-straight victory this week.

Goals from Raul Uche, Alex Pascanu and Harvey Barnes saw City follow up Monday’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur with another battling triumph.

Delighted with his side’s run of form, Petty told LCFC TV: “We set the lads a target after the Tottenham game of going on to get six points this week and we just about deserved it based on our second half performance.

“In the first half, we were a little disappointed, but in the second half we were stronger and created a lot more chances.

“We changed it a little bit at half-time in terms of our formation to stop Reading playing through the middle. They were comfortable in possession, but didn’t really threaten, so we tried to push a lot higher in the second half and we dominated it.

“We talked about being unbeaten in four games ahead of the match. We feel that we’re a little bit more settled now.”

All three of City’s strikes were well worked and Petty had some kind words for Friday’s goalscorers following the win.

He added: “Raul [Uche] is working really hard physically and probably hasn’t had as many opportunities as he wanted to. He’s a box player and he came on and got a really good goal to get us level.

“Alex [Pascanu] loves to raid forward and he scored a brilliant goal against Copenhagen and he’s done it again against Reading. I thought he was one of the best players on the pitch and he’s come up with the goods at the other end.

“We were delighted with Harvey [Barnes]. He had a few chances and kept popping up. He kept making forward runs and we’re delighted he got on the scoresheet.”
