Vardy On Target In England Win

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy scored his sixth goal for England to help them to a 2-0 2018 World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening.

- The Leicester City frontman scored just six minutes after coming on at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 

- Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel played 90 minutes during Denmark’s 0-0 draw with Romania 

Leicester City striker scored his sixth goal for England to help them to a 2-0 2018 World Cup qualifying win over Lithuania at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening.

 

Having during the Three Lions’ international friendly defeat to Germany on Wednesday, the Foxes No.9 started the game from the bench in the capital. 

It took just 21 minutes for Gareth Southgate’s men to open the scoring, as Jermain Defoe converted Raheem Sterling’s low cross from close range. 

Vardy was introduced on the hour mark in place of Defoe and was on the scoresheet himself after just six minutes of action to wrap up the three points. 

Meanwhile, – in superb form for the Foxes – completed 90 minutes for Denmark in their goalless draw against Romania.
