- Ron-Robert Zieler wants those involved against Millwall to show their quality
- Leicester City head to the Den on Saturday to take on the Lions in the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round
- The Foxes then contest two important fixtures against Sevilla and Liverpool
Ron-Robert Zieler believes Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup tie at Millwall will provide a number of Leicester City players with an opportunity to impress manager Claudio Ranieri. On Thursday, Ranieri confirmed that he is likely to make changes to his starting XI to face the League 1 outfit, having also done so against Derby County in the previous round.
Now, Zieler wants those who have not featured as much as they would have liked this term to take their chance by showing their quality against the Lions.
The stopper told LCFC TV ahead of the game: “It’s definitely an opportunity for the players that haven’t been playing much to show what they are capable of.
“At Derby, we could see that the young players did really well. We did well as a team and it was great that some of the players got time on the field because they’ve done well.
“The gaffer has got that in mind – maybe to play some of the players that haven’t played much.”
While securing their Premier League status is the priority for City, Zieler says recording a win ahead of two difficult fixtures against Sevilla and Liverpool will be of value the Foxes.
“Obviously the FA Cup is important, but I have to admit at this stage of the season we have to say that the Premier League is the most important thing right now,” said Zieler.
“We haven’t been getting the results we wanted to get, but we should use the FA Cup and the Champions League to get a positive result and hopefully to turn it into a positive for the next couple of weeks.
“It’s going to be very important because we need points in the Premier League as well. Getting a good result at the right time is important.”
