Defeat Hard To Take For Sesay

Leicester City Development Squad centre-half Alie Sesay felt it was a tough blow to take when his side lost 1-0 to Sunderland on Monday.

The Young Foxes defended well throughout the game and looked to have sealed their second point of the Barclays U21 Premier League season.
But a late spot kick from Liam Agnew with just three minutes of the game to play meant City returned to Leicester empty-handed.
Speaking exclusively to Foxes Player after the game, Sesay said: “It’s a kick in the teeth really, to sum it up. We worked hard for 85 minutes and then an unlucky penalty just kills the game.
“It would have been nice getting a clean sheet – we haven’t had one in the league this season.
“We could have built on it for next week but it didn’t happen – we can’t dwell on it for too long, we’ve got to move on and hopefully win the next game.
“At the end of the day we’ve got to be ruthless in both boxes. I feel that we were in our own box for the majority of the game but in the other box we could have been more ruthless by taking our chances and hitting the target more.”
The defender made his debut for Sierra Leone in the African Cup of Nations over the international break, and although his nation didn’t qualify for the tournament next year, Sesay believes the experience will be beneficial to his development.
He added: “It was good – internationals are always different but it was a good experience.
“The first game we got a good point against a big Cameroon side but the second game unfortunately we lost 2-0.
“It was a good experience overall and I’m very proud. As you know, that’s where I come from and it was nice to play to try and make a difference for your country.”
