Pearson: We'll Turn It Around

City manager Nigel Pearson felt his side deserved something from their defeat to Cardiff City.

But he accepted their inability to do so came down to missed chances.

Craig Bellamy's first-half goal settled a tight top-of-the-table encounter at King Power Stadium and left the fifth-placed Foxes 10 points behind the leaders.

But Pearson is confident his team will turn their current run of one win in five around.

"Ultimately when you create as many chances as we did, you would expect to score," Pearson said post-match.

"For the most part of the season, we've done that well at home, but today we came up against a side that have done well defensively and hit us with a bit of a sucker punch.

"In the second half it fizzled out a bit, we didn't manage the ball as I would have liked, but you have to give them some credit for the way they got behind the ball and made life difficult.

"We created enough opportunities in the game to get something out of it and I think we deserved something."

Pearson was disappointed that his side didn't manage to create as much in the second half, but took positives from the fact that his side were never out of the game.

"I just thought if we kept doing the right things often enough it would turn for us. Today it just didn't quite happen," he said.

"We've not been totally dominated this season, the games we play in are generally tight.

"Unfortunately for us, at the moment we're not quite managing to turn those situations into wins, but we'll turn that around."
