Pearson Wary Of Swansea Threat

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson knows his side must be at their best when they travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea City on Saturday.

The Foxes will look to register their first win since their memorable 5-3 victory over Manchester United in mid-September.
The Swans, meanwhile, haven’t won in five Barclays Premier League outings since beating West Bromwich Albion 3-0 at the end of August.
Pearson’s men showed plenty of character at St. James’ Park last weekend but slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat when Gabriel Obertan hit a late winner.
Wary of the attacking prowess of Garry Monk’s outfit, Pearson said: “I think they’re a very good side. They’re a football club that’s had nearly a decade of playing a similar way and recruiting managers that fit the profile of the football club.
“Everybody there is well versed with how they play, how they perform, what their style is and what they stand for.
“You don’t expect things to go your way for the entirety of the season. They’ve started the season exceptionally well and remain a very good side with some impressive individuals.
“We’ve got to make sure that going there we don’t spend too much time considering what’s happened in the last few games.
“It’s a case of we have to deal with them as a team and their key players as well.
“For us, we’ve got to make sure that our level of performance gives us the best chance of winning the game.
“We know we’re going to have to be near or at our best to do that.”
The City boss believes his men have applied themselves well after two wins and three draws in their opening eight league fixtures.
But an important factor for Pearson is that Leicester must not get carried away with their performances, and similarly, must not succumb to negativity if they lose.
“For the most part, the players have applied themselves exceptionally well,” he added. “We’ve not, in the last three games, probably got what we deserved.
“But I’m not going to dwell too much on that. We’ve now got to make sure that our preparation is right for our next game against Swansea and that we play as well as we can.
“If we do that then that increases the chances of coming away with the result that you want – it’s always about trying to win games.
“When people want to talk positively about the team, and about us in general, you can be quite wary about being overly excited along with people.
“Likewise, I don’t tend to get downbeat when things don’t go exactly how we would like them to go.
“It’s a long season and I thinks so far we’ve acquitted ourselves pretty well. You could argue that we could have one or two points more, you could argue that we could have one or two points less.
“Last Saturday we weren’t ruthless enough in both boxes and that really is the top and bottom of it.”
