Match Preview: Crystal Palace vs. Leicester City

Read a full match preview on the Barclays Premier League game between Crystal Palace and Leicester City at Selhurst Park on Saturday 27 September.

Nigel Pearson’s men remain with their feet firmly on the ground after their remarkable 5-3 win over Manchester United last time out.
Aiming for a third consecutive Barclays Premier League win, the Foxes travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday to face Neil Warnock’s Crystal Palace.
City currently sit seventh in the league and could move into the top two with a win while Palace sit eight places below in 15th.
Matthew Upson remains City’s only injury doubt as the defender continues his recovery from a foot problem which has kept him out of action for the opening stages of the season.

Crystal Palace will be in good spirits on Saturday after claiming a valuable three points in a 3-2 victory over Everton at Goodison Park last time out.
A penalty from Mile Jedinak and goals from Fraizer Campbell and Yannick Bolasie helped the London side move out of the bottom three.
Despite suffering a midweek defeat to 10-man Newcastle United after extra time in the Capital One Cup, Warnock’s side are now unbeaten in three games in the league.
Marouane Chamakh (hamstring) and Stuart O’Keefe (ankle) are set to be the only injury doubts for Palace at the weekend.

Speaking exclusively to Foxes Player following the victory over Manchester United, City manager Nigel Pearson said: “It’s been a really satisfying day – one that the players can take a lot of pride in in their performance.
“We’ve made changes today and we’ve made changes because we felt that we needed to give ourselves the best chance of winning the game.
“To respond quickly is always going to be important – I did feel that when we scored they took the initiative and then when they scored we took the initiative.
“We weren’t too pleased with the build up to their first two goals in particular but I did think we scored a really good goal after that and to keep putting them under pressure when it would be easy to fold is testament to the spirit that we have.”

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock told cpfc.com after the Everton win: “I thought we deserved to win it today. We were apprehensive in the first 20 minutes and gave them a bit too much respect but from that moment we grew into the game and we said it was a game we could go on and try to win.
"What pleased me was that Everton are a good side and we had to hang in there at times and put our head in and make tackles and blocks, and I like that kind of football.
"We needed to be a little more positive and be better on the ball and I knew we had the ammunition to hurt them on the counter.
“I think every fixture in this league is there to get points from, I know on the day most teams will get beaten by the top three or four in the league but teams like ourselves can play home or away and give a good account of themselves.”

Mile Jedinak joined the Eagles in 2011 from Turkish side Genclerbirligi and is a full international having represented Australia 49 times.
He was a key catalyst in Palace’s impressive run in the latter stages of the season last year, helping his side to finish in a respectable 11th place and ultimately quashing any chances of relegation.
Jedinak, who scored for his country at the FIFA 2014 World Cup against Holland, is well known for his ability at the centre of midfield.
A tough tackler with a good passing range, the former Central Coast Mariners man breaks up opposition attacks well and will certainly look to do so against City on Saturday as the Foxes bring their exciting brand of attacking football to south London.
