Shakey Confident On De Laet Fitness

The Belgian full-back was withdrawn early in the second half of Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Brighton, complaining of a tight chest.

But despite initial concerns post-match, De Laet appears to have recovered sufficiently to be considered for Saturday’s game against the Eagles, where the Foxes will be going for a seventh home win on the bounce.

“Ritchie obviously came off with a chest complaint, but he’s been checked over and, by all accounts, he’s ok and is going to be fine for Saturday,” Shakey told the media on Thursday

“There are a few carrying knocks from Tuesday and they’ll be assessed before we regroup on Friday. You get slight knocks, kicks, bumps and bruises, but we’d expect everyone to come through.

“I think most of the games in the Championship come thick and fast now so you’re always going to pick up bumps and bruises.

“But with where we are at the moment, everyone wants to be fit. We’ve got a strong sports medicine and sports science department, so we’ll wheel them out!”
