Pearson In Wrexham Loan

Promising Development Squad defender James Pearson has joined Conference Premier side Wrexham on a month-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old heads to the Racecourse Ground with Kevin Wilkin’s side poised just three points adrift of the play-off places after 17 games and looking to build on a promising first half of the season.

As well as captaining Leicester City’s Under-21s on a number of occasions this term, the right-back made his full first team debut in the Capital One Cup against Shrewsbury Town at King Power Stadium earlier this season.

The move builds on a useful spell on loan with League 1 outfit Carlisle United in the second half of the 2013/14 campaign, during which Pearson made his Football League debut away at Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane.

The all-action full back played a key role for the Development Squad last term and caught the eye in pre-season against MK Dons, when he plundered a stunning 25-yard volley into the top corner.

Pearson will be in line to make his debut for Wrexham when they host second placed Halifax on Saturday afternoon, before difficult trips to Woking and Braintree follow in November.
