Millers Trip For Foxes In Pre-Season

Another date for Leicester City’s pre-season schedule has been confirmed with the Foxes set to travel to Rotherham United’s New York Stadium on Tuesday 5 August (KO 7.45pm).

Coming less than two weeks before the opening weekend of the Barclays Premier League season, there are sure to be plenty of City stars eager to impress manager Nigel Pearson.

Steve Evans’ side meanwhile will be playing Championship football next season following their dramatic penalty shootout victory over Leyton Orient in the League 1 Play-Off Final at Wembley last weekend.

They have enjoyed another fine season under Evans, finishing the campaign in fourth place and knocking Preston North End out of the play-offs en route to their final victory, which capped a second successive promotion.

The fixture will also mark the first time City have played at the 12,000 capacity New York Stadium, which opened in July 2012.

The most recent meeting between the two sides was at the Don Valley Stadium in the Capital One Cup, where a memorable second half hat-trick from an 18-year-old Jeff Schlupp gave City a 4-1 win.
