Marc Albrighton says Leicester City can’t stray from the mentality that has worked so well for them so far this season after a 1-1 Barclays Premier League draw with Manchester United.

The winger has been integral to the Foxes’ fortunes but not one member of the squad will discuss anything beyond their initial 40-point target despite the team sitting joint top of the league.

The point against Manchester United was their 29th from just 14 games – a phenomenal feat for a side that sat bottom of the table at the same stage last term.

Jamie Vardy opened the scoring with a record-breaking goal for the 11th game in succession, before Bastian Schweinsteiger netted in first half stoppage time to claim a point for the visitors.

<div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >“That was a tough game,” reflected Albrighton to <a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com" target="_blank">Foxes Player HD</a>. “We knew that they were going to come and try to dominate the game in possession, which they did. But we held our own against top class opposition and we’re probably happy with a point. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >“If you take a step back and have a look at it from a distance then it’s a good point. Obviously it would have been nice to get the three but we can’t get carried away. These are top class opposition and they’ve got a lot of top class players in the side so we’ve got to be happy. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >“We go into every game saying we need to start well and get the opposition on the back foot. We did that and got the goal early on. If we could have held out until half time then who knows, it could have been a different game. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >“It’s never nice to concede a goal so close to half time. It’s a bit of a sucker punch because we felt we dominated the first half and had the better chances and deserved to be going into the break 1-0 up.</div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >“It wasn’t to be and they came out strong second half. We felt we weathered the storm straight after half time. We did well there and had a couple of chances of our own but maybe a point was a fair result.” </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >While in his post-match interviews, City scorer Vardy was keen to highlight the team’s performance, Albrighton was only too happy to offer his congratulations to his record-breaking team-mate. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >The striker’s 13 goals across 11 consecutive games has set a new Premier League record – beating former Manchester United man Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s total - and it’s a mark thoroughly warranted according to Albrighton. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" >He said: “He’s been fantastic for us. He deserves the record. He deserves all the credit that he’s getting just lately. Fair play to Vards (Jamie Vardy), he’s come a long way for that and it’s fully deserved. </div><div style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;" ><br /></div><div ><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: 10pt;">“I think obviously if you break such a record as this then you have got to be surprised at the way players do it. If you go and ask Ruud Van Nistelrooy who he thought would break his record I’m sure he wouldn’t have picked out Jamie Vardy but fair play to Vards, he’s been fantastic and fully deserves it.”</span></span></div><div ><a href="http://www.player.lcfc.com" target="_blank"><img xlink:href="tcm:0-2692753" title="PlayerHD2015_Banner" alt="PlayerHD2015_Banner" style="width: 480px; height: 100px;" /></a><br /></div>
