A return to winning ways on Saturday against Norwich City showed just how resolute Leicester City are, according to winger Marc Albrighton.

The Foxes were beaten for the first time in nine games in all competitions by a ruthless Arsenal side in late September, but any doubts whether City could bounce back after the loss were swiftly dismissed at Carrow Road.

Claudio Ranieri’s men made it four victories from eight 2015/16 Barclays Premier League games against the Canaries as a penalty from Jamie Vardy and a second-half strike from Jeffrey Schlupp put City 2-0 up.

Norwich found the back of the net through Dieumerci Mbokani shortly after, but an excellent defensive display from the men in blue meant they returned to Leicester with all three points.

Albrighton said: "There would have been a lot of questions about us as a team and a squad after the Arsenal defeat, whether we would bounce back or would we deflate.

"I think we have answered those questions. We have shown our character and what the spirit is like in the squad. We have come out all guns blazing and got a good victory.

"The run we went on last season and carried on into this season has been tremendous. No one will want to play us at the moment with the form and confidence we are showing. It is definitely all positive from our point of view."

A total of 10 City stars will now head out on international duty for their nations and Albrighton hopes this will give fellow wideman Nathan Dyer the chance to recover from the knee injury he sustained after scoring the winner against Aston Villa in September.

"The last international break we said we wanted to keep playing but we came back and just carried on,” Albrighton added. “Obviously it is good to have a rest but when you are in a run of form you don't want to stop.

"We still have Nathan Dyer to come back in. He started his career here at Leicester well but unfortunately picked up a knock.

"Hopefully he will be fighting for a place after the international break and the squad will be up to full strength.”
