All About Belief For Schmeichel

While much of the season has been difficult results-wise, there has been an acknowledgment within the camp that the performances on the pitch were good enough to mean survival was still a possibility. 

“It's come from belief,” Schmeichel reflected to Foxes Player. “It’s come from never losing focus, never losing belief and the energy that we put into games. 

“We keep going, keep working and keep believing in the way that we want to play football. 

“I liken this run-in to winning the title last season. It’s sort of the same thing because you’re going into every game needing points. You have to keep picking up points and we’ve done that. It’s been a great. 

“It’s a credit to the lads and credit to the coaching squad. The owners and the fans, they all deserve it, they’ve been magnificent. 

“We’ve been through some tough times this season but we’ve kept our heads, kept our stability and kept believing in what we felt was going to get us out, and it has. 

“We have been playing well all season. I think when you look at our performances during the season, then I think we’ve done really well. We haven’t always got the rub of the green. We needed a bit of luck here and there, and we’ve needed that on this current run as well. We’re just very happy that it came our way.”
