Birch Completes 35th LCFC Foxes Foundation Run

Club Ambassador Alan ‘The Birch’ Birchenall gave it his all on Sunday afternoon a he completed his 35th annual run for the LCFC Foxes Foundation – his most gruelling challenge yet.
Joined by a host of fellow fundraisers, the evergreen 69-year-old completed laps of the pitch for an agonising 90-minutes in a long-standing tradition dating back to 1981.

In aid of the LCFC Foxes Foundation and it’s five partner charities for 2014/15, the Club legend was cheered enthusiastically over the finish line after a run that saw him joined by players from both sides as well as a host of other fundraisers.

Over the years, Birch has raised over £1 million for great causes, and now with the LCFC Foxes Foundation he’s well on his was to cracking the ‘second million’ thanks to the generosity of the Blue Army, who again gave willingly over 200 collection buckets scattered around the stadium.

The run crowned what was truly a party atmosphere around King Power Stadium ahead of the clash with QPR, as the Foxes celebrated survival in the Premier League, with celebrities like Coronation Street’s David Neilson and X-Factor winner Sam Bailey lending a hand to the fundraising.
