Young Leicester City striker Jacob Blyth has joined Sky Bet League 2 side Cambridge United on a month-long loan.

The powerful frontman enjoyed a productive pre-season for the Club’s Under-21s, scoring braces against both Loughborough Dynamo and Bristol City.

Blyth netted five times while on loan at eventual League 2 champions Burton Albion in 2014/15, having already had spells at Notts County and Northampton Town.

The 23-year-old forward will now look to help a Cambridge side who have started the 2015/16 season well, registering two wins and a draw in their opening three league fixtures alongside a narrow Capital One Cup defeat to Championship outfit Rotherham United.

Should Blyth’s registration be cleared in time, he could be involved in the league clash with Crawley Town at Abbey Stadium on Saturday.
