Burton Extend Blyth Loan

Leicester City striker Jacob Blyth’s loan spell with League 2 outfit Burton Albion has been extended until the end of the current 2014/15 campaign.
The 22-year-old forward’s performances have impressed new manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, whose side have risen to second in the table thanks to a fine run of form.

Former Leamington forward, Blyth, has scored five times in 22 appearances for the Brewers this term, with the target man’s form helping to put the team within a point of league leaders Wycombe Wanderers and 10 points clear of the play-offs.

Strong in the air and with a keen eye for goal, the powerful forward has scored regularly for Steve Beaglehole’s Development Squad in recent seasons, as well as on a number of loan spells – including another with Burton in 2012.

Blyth has also enjoyed spells with Notts County and Northampton Town in the Football League, and will hope to continue his rapid development under the guidance of former striker Hasselbaink at the Pirelli Stadium this term.
