Cambiasso: Fight To The Finish

Esteban Cambiasso says the creativity shown in recent games will be the key to Leicester City’s hopes of Barclays Premier League survival.

The Argentine midfielder, 34, benefited from City’s attacking enterprise last weekend when he gave the Foxes a second-half lead in the .
It was a position from which Nigel Pearson’s side should have gone on to secure a valuable three points, only for a late Matthew Upson own goal to deny them a first win in six league games.
But having been part of the side that performed with similar promise , Cambiasso can see light at the end of the tunnel.
“We were unlucky at Everton because we worked hard to collect three points.
“We couldn’t (get the points), but if we create the opportunities we have in our last two Premier League games – at Everton and at Arsenal, two great teams we have played well against – then we have a chance.
“Perhaps we could have more points than we have right now. But if we continue to work hard in these situations, then I think we can stay in the Premier League.”
Having claimed over 20 major titles, including the UEFA Champions League, during a stellar career, Cambiasso knows exactly what it takes to be successful during the business end of the season.
And the former Inter Milan and Real Madrid man has no doubt about the major quality the Foxes will need in their bid for survival.
“It’s a hard fight, we know that, but we understand what is needed, which is great fight until the finish,” he said.
“If we play like we have in recent games, it helps our chances.”
