CHAMPIONS: King Hails Unbelievable Season

- The Foxes clinched their first title after Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night left them with an unassailable lead at the top of the table 

- King has spent his entire professional career with Leicester City after graduating from the Academy 

- He was also part of the Leicester City squad which won the 2008/09 League 1 title and 2013/14 Championship crown 

He’s a League 1 winner, he’s a Championship winner and now he’s a Premier League winner. He’s Andy King. 

The Academy graduate is our current longest serving player, the Club’s all-time top scoring midfielder and a man who has arguably experienced more highs and lows that anyone else with the Foxes. 

From relegation to the third tier in 2008 to clinching the Club’s first-ever top-flight championship just eight years later, King has seen it all. 

He even scored that crucial goal against West Ham late last season which kick-started a run of form that eventually saw the Foxes claim the league title on Monday night. 

There are few better placed to explain just what it means to have completed what is without question the greatest achievement in Leicester City’s 132-year history. 

“I thought I’d seen everything with this club,” King told LCFC.com. “But I never thought I’d see this. It’s difficult to put into words. The players deserve it, the gaffer and the staff deserve it, and the fans deserve it. It’s been an unbelievable season.” 

What King and his team-mates have accomplished this season will undoubtedly be spoken about for years to come. While the magnitude of what they have done is still sinking in for many, King was sure of one thing – Leicester City are worthy champions of England. 

He added: "The story of where this team has come from to get to this point has been all over the world recently and I think the lads deserve great credit for the way they’ve taken it in their stride, stayed focused and kept delivering results – especially with a great side like Spurs chasing us so hard. We’ve been so consistent and just determined not to let the opportunity pass us by. We deserve this."
