City Legends Sign Up For Santa Fun Run

- City legends Steve Walsh, Muzzy Izzet and Ali Mauchlen will all take part 

- Last season’s run saw Leicester City fans turn up in their droves to raise thousands of pounds for the LCFC Foxes Foundation partner charities and adopted charity ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ 

- Supporters of all ages are invited to join in the Santa Fun Run, which starts at 10.30am on Sunday 6 December, 2015 at Victoria Park, Leicester 

- Admission for Adults costs £10 and includes a blue Santa suit, Under-12s cost £5 and receive a free Elf hat, while Under-2s go free 

- Participants can choose to do a 2.5km or 5km run or walk 

- All proceeds will go directly to LCFC Foxes Foundation charities with a donation also going to When You Wish Upon A Star 

A trio of Leicester City legends will join the festive fundraising at the LCFC Foxes Foundation Santa Fun Run in partnership with When You Wish Upon A Star next month. 

Steve Walsh, Muzzy Izzet and Ali Mauchlen will all be donning their blue Santa suits in the name of charity as the event returns for a second year running in Victoria Park. 

Last season’s inaugural launch raised thousands of pounds for charity, while Leicester City fans of all ages ‘sleighed’ countless calories, all for a great cause. 

The season will be no different as on Sunday 6 December, 2015, the 2.5km or 5km walk or run will start at Leicester’s Victoria Park at 10.30am. 

Entry for Adults costs just £10 and includes a blue Santa suit and a medal of recognition at the end of the run, Under-12s cost £5 and will receive an Elf hat for the little helpers to keep, while Under-2s go FREE! 

All participants receive a medal for completing the run. Supporters are strongly encouraged to raise a minimum of £20 in sponsorship, with all funds raised going directly to the LCFC Foxes Foundation's partner charities for the 2015/16 season and adopted charity 'When You Wish Upon A Star' – a charity that grants special wishes for children living with life-threatening illnesses across the UK. 

Club Ambassador Alan 'The Birch' Birchenall said:“We had tremendous support for the LCFC Foxes Foundation’s Santa Fun Run in the first year we launched it, so I’m hoping that more of our fans come out and show their faces for this season’s run. 

“Yes, it might be a little bit cold, but as soon as you get those legs moving you’ll be all warmed-up to raise some money for the fantastic charity When You Wish Upon A Star and the LCFC Foxes Foundation's partner charities.” 

City supporters turned up in their droves to paint Leicester blue last year, accompanied by Birch, who hopes to see more of the Foxes faithful out in force this year. 

He added:“I’m delighted to see the run take place for a second year running and I hope that the LCFC Foxes Foundation’s tireless efforts again pay off in December. 

“So make sure you grab your thermals and head down to Victoria Park, where I’ll be waiting to cheer you on on your walk or run! 

“I do a lot of running myself, not to mention my end of season run, so it’ll be a brilliant way for all the family to get into the Christmas spirit.”

IN PERSON: Visit the City Fanstore at King Power Stadium. The City Fanstore is open from 9am-6pm Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturday and 10-2pm on Sunday.
