City Supporters Enjoy King Power Fans Challenge

Coached by Leicester legends Steve Walsh and Ally Mauchlen, fans were treated to a full matchday experience, donning a City shirt on the same turf that some of their footballing heroes had beaten Queens Park Rangers 5-1 on just days earlier. 

Cheered on by friends and family from the stands, the players also took full advantage of kitting-up in the home and away dressing rooms, giving them a rare insight into the life of a City first-teamer, all thanks to owners Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha. 

Reflecting on the game, away team manager Walsh said: “I’m pleasantly surprised at the standard of players we’ve got, to be honest. It’s been great for the fans. 

“The fact that they get to use the dressing room and then walk out onto the pitch as a team onto the hallowed turf must be great for them. 

“It’s all for the Foxes Foundation, which really is a brilliant charity. The whole club have put in a lot of time and effort for charity, and this is another very good example of it.” 

Jack Bottrill, who captained the home side to a 5-0 victory, said: “It’s brilliant to play at King Power Stadium. It’s an honour to be honest. It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do since I was young. It’s brilliant experience.” 

Playing under the stewardship of Mauchlen, Jack added: “Everybody knows what Ally Maulchen has done for Leicester City. He’s a brilliant bloke, so it’s a privilege to play under him.”
