Defender Ruled Out Of West Ham Clash

Leicester City will be without defender Matt Upson for Saturday’s Barclays Premier League visit of West Ham United to King Power Stadium, manager Nigel Pearson has revealed.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion centre-half has been a key figure for the Foxes in recent weeks after recovering from a foot injury that kept him out of action until February.
Upson has started all of City’s last six games in all competitions, but had to be withdrawn at half-time in the 4-3 league defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.
“Matt’s not available this weekend,” said Pearson. “He came off with an Achilles problem [against Tottenham]. We’re just looking after him, but he won’t be considered for this week.
“The only other players not available are Dean Hammond, who’s recovering from his calf injury, and Zoumana Bakayogo.
“We’ll have another look at the lads coming back from international duty. Jeff played on Tuesday so he hasn’t really done too much today. He’s very tired, but we’ll see how he is.
“We’ll have as stronger squad as we could hope for at this stage of the season. That’s always something that, we in our season, do need. Not just fit in body but in mind as well – that’s important.”
Meanwhile, defender Liam Moore is back in contention for the Foxes after returning from his loan spell with Brentford. Read the full story .
