Defiant James Vows Foxes Will Keep Fighting

Without a game this weekend, having originally been scheduled to face Capital One Cup finalists Chelsea, the Foxes will be interested onlookers as their rivals near the foot of the table resume the battle for precious points.
Nigel Pearson’s side will then return to action on Wednesday when they travel to the Etihad Stadium to face champions Manchester City.
City looked set for a first league win in six games at Everton on Sunday, only to see another good performance go without the victory it arguably deserved as the Toffees grabbed a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
But James says the Foxes’ luck has to turn if they continue to build on the positives of recent displays.
“I don’t think it’s in our nature to give up – we haven’t done that at any stage this season or in the last few seasons,” he said.
“Sunday might have felt like a defeat, but we’re taking the positives out of it. We haven’t been beaten, we created good chances and scored two goals. We have to build on that.
“You’re running around thinking, ‘please, could something just go for us for once’. We all thought we were going to win the game and could have set us up for a nice run of wins.
“But we all know what we’re capable of. We just have to keep working hard to achieve it.”
James cited the impact of substitutes Jamie Vardy and David Nugent last weekend as evidence of the quality City will have at their disposal in the final 12 games of the campaign.
Both players were introduced after an hour at Goodison Park. Within two minutes, Vardy had laid on an equaliser for Nugent. Within another four, he’d laid on a second for Esteban Cambiasso.
“Credit to Vards and Nuge for coming off the bench and changing the game,’ James said.
“They have not had the best of runs in the team over the last few weeks, but it shows the strength in depth we have."
