Dodoo Enjoys Fine U21s Form

Development Squad forward Joe Dodoo wants his side to continue their fantastic run of form following Monday’s 3-1 Barclays U21 Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium.

Dodoo played 90 minutes in the triumph and was a constant threat from the wing, as second half goals from Simonas Stankevicius, Danny Drinkwater and Jak McCourt secured three points.
The victory saw Steve Beaglehole’s outfit make it four league wins on the spin and eight games unbeaten in all competitions.
Hoping to continue that productive streak of results, Dodoo told Foxes Player: “We’ve been on a good run for eight games now. We just want to continue that because we had a slow start to the season.
“We’re in great form. The lads have been fantastic. We just need to make sure we keep our foot down and finish games off when we get the chance. We need to make sure we can stay in the top half of the league – that’s our goal.
“Beags (Steve Beaglehole) was fairly happy with how we played in the first half against Tottenham. We were probably better towards the end of the first half. He just wanted us to start the second half in the way we ended the first half.
“Luckily, Simonas scored a header which got us in front and from then on, we knew we had to just keep our foot down and not let them score.
“It was very important to score the final goal. When they scored it pushed us back a bit but Jak’s goal took the pressure off us.”
Involved in the victory were four of Leicester City’s first-teamers. Ben Hamer, Drinkwater and Marc Albrighton all notched up 90 minutes, while Anthony Knockaert came off with just nine minutes to play.
Hoping to learn from the Foxes’ senior contingent, Dodoo added: “It was great to play with them. They talk to you throughout the game. You learn a lot from playing alongside them. You’ve just got to keep learning every time you play with them.
“They often tell you where you should be and what the best decision to make is. It’s great because you want to be prepared. Communication is very important in football, and they make you aware of that.”
