Dodoo’s Dynamo Delight

- Braces from Panayiotou and Blyth and strikes from Watson and King complete scoring 

- Dodoo boosted by presence of first team manager Claudio Ranieri 

Winger Joe Dodoo says his side are hoping to carry their fine form into the 2015/16 campaign following the 9-0 pre-season friendly win over Loughborough Dynamo on Wednesday. 

City’s Development Squad have scored 15 goals in their past two fixtures, with a 6-2 win over Derby County last week closely followed by the victory at Loughborough’s Nanpantan Sports Ground. 

Dodoo was in irresistible form in both games, netting a brace against Derby before a 16-minute hat-trick against Wednesday’s opponents. 

“It was a great performance,” Dodoo told Foxes Player HD. “We wanted start with the intentions of pressing high and getting as many goals as possible. 

“I’ve had two games now and I’m trying to get fit, so to score a hat-trick is a good thing for me. I just want to keep it going – hopefully it leads to better things this season. It’s been a great start – it gets your confidence really high.” 

Watching on from the stands was Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri, who spoke to Steve Beaglehole’s outfit in the dressing room ahead of the game – something that spurred the players on, according to Dodoo. 

He added: “It gave us a big boost because it’s a chance for the lads to show what we can do. It was a great game for him to come and watch. 

“It was a great performance from the lads. We were solid at the back all the way up to the midfield and up front. Everyone has done really well over the last few games – we’re hoping to carry on as a team into the first game of the season against Manchester United.”
