As the Barclays Premier League season continues on Saturday, winger Nathan Dyer says he is itching to get back involved after recently missing out due to injury.

Dyer, on loan from fellow Premier League outfit Swansea City until the end of the 2015/16 campaign, netted the winner on his debut for the Foxes against Aston Villa in September, but injured his knee in the process and has been out of action ever since.

The international break has given the tricky wideman a chance to recover, while he also notched up 90 minutes in behind-closed-doors friendly last week.

“I’m feeling good,” Dyer told Foxes Player HD. “It was good to get game time last week in the friendly match. It’s good to come back into the frame by training and hopefully getting back on the pitch.”

On Saturday, City head to St. Mary’s Stadium to face a Southampton side who have also started the season well having accumulated a total of 12 points from eight games.

Dyer believes the Foxes’ aggressive forward play, which boasts the joint-second highest goalscoring tally in the Premier League, could be key on Saturday.

Dyer continued: “We’ve got a great aggressive front line and that’s the way to go forward. I love to see that and I love to watch that. The gaffer likes to play with wingers and to keep attacking. That’s what attracted me to the Club.

“They’ve (Southampton) started well. I think they’ve done well since they have come up into the Premier League, so it’ll be a hard challenge for us. We’re looking forward to it.

“They’re a good solid team. They don’t just have individuals. Mané is doing really well up front but they’re a quite tight-knit team.”

Dyer rose through the ranks at the Saints, spending 14 years there before making the switch to Swansea in 2009.

“When I first played against them, it was a situation where I’m going back to my old club, but that’s long gone now,” Dyer added.

“My focus is on Leicester and I’ll be fully focused on giving 100 per cent to the team to try and get three points.”
