As Leicester City gear up for a Barclays Premier League trip to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, defender Christian Fuchs was in positive mood.

The unbeaten Foxes have been in fine form so far this campaign, with both victories and goals in abundance as performances continue to reach the heights of last season.

Fuchs has been involved from the bench so far in the league, but stepped up well to play his first 90 minutes of the campaign in a .

Fuchs made a number of marauding forward runs against the Shakers, something that was a feature of his play for former team Schalke and a quality he’s keen to show in the Premier League this term – starting at Bournemouth on Saturday.

“We know Bournemouth have a good momentum and good spirit and that they won at West Ham [in their last league game],” Fuchs told Foxes Player HD.

“They just got promoted so they’ll be trying everything to stay in the league. I still think that we are a good team and we’ve had the better start to the season to give us a push. I believe we can win there and I’m really positive about that.”

The newly-promoted Cherries have been impressive in their league displays so far and followed in Leicester’s footsteps by beating West Ham at Upton Park - emerging victorious with a 4-3 scoreline.

Grabbing the headlines that afternoon was striker Callum Wilson, who fired in an impressive hat-trick, but despite that form, Fuchs is keen for City just to concentrate on getting their own game right defensively.

He added: “With strikers one week you can be good and one week you can be down. As a defender you just have to make sure [whoever it is] that you defend properly and when you do that you have a good chance to win the game.

“I’m ready to play. I want to play and I came here to play. I’m excited now and I just want to show that in my performances.

“I’m enjoying it a lot. The guys are great and I’m simply having fun playing my football here.”
