Fuchs Turns To Experience

- Austrian defender enjoying playing in England 

- Fuchs impressed with manager Claudio Ranieri 

After joining from Schalke in the summer, defender Christian Fuchs hopes he can use his experience of playing football at the highest level to help Leicester City in the 2015/16 season. 

The Foxes conclude their pre-season schedule at Birmingham City on Saturday before kicking-off their Barclays Premier League campaign against Sunderland the following weekend at King Power Stadium. 

Fuchs arrived at City following four successful years at Schalke, where he faced some of Europe’s biggest clubs in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League, as well as captaining the Austria national side. 

On signing for the Club, the 29-year-old explained that it was a dream for him to play in the Premier League, and now he wants to help Leicester City establish themselves in England’s top flight. 

Fuchs said: “We played against good teams at Schalke in the Champions League, against Chelsea and Arsenal, and I liked that, I liked that football a lot. 

“I think that can only help me and also to help the team. It's pretty physical, British football, that's the way I got to know it, and I like it a lot.” 

Fuchs has played three times in pre-season, most recently completing 90 minutes against Burton Albion on Tuesday evening. 

Enjoying playing under manager Claudio Ranieri, Fuchs added: “(Ranieri's) been involved since the start of last week. He's doing well. We're trying to do on the field what he's telling us, and so far it's going really well. 

“The way it looks right now, we're playing with three at the back, and I'm the left one at the back. That's okay for me. I played that system with Schalke for a long time and also back in Austria. I've got to know my team-mates now as well, they are cool guys.”
