Hamer: Positive Mental Attitude
Next up is a trip to face West Ham, who currently occupy fourth spot in the league, but in the face of adversity, there’s no hint of a squad feeling sorry for themselves, just a reiteration that they’re up for the fight.
He told Foxes Player: “It’s (being positive) the only choice we’ve got I’m afraid. We’re in the situation we’re in and the only way we’re going to get out of that is by being positive.
“We’re not going to curl up and die here, because we know what’s at stake. It’s a big league and it’s a league that we want to be in as a Club and we’ve just got to keep cracking on, producing the performances, staying upbeat and be positive.
“We’ve got to train hard and keep going into games with a positive mental attitude, and I think then we’ll be fine.”
It’s again likely to be Hamer between the sticks for the Foxes on Saturday in the absence of Kasper Schmeichel, who underwent surgery on a broken metatarsal last week, and he’s looking to take his chance.
“It’s (being on the bench) a situation I have found myself in recently,” said Hamer. “Obviously Kasper has been injured, so now there’s a run of games where I have to play well and help the team, which is the most important thing.
“I love playing games of football, and that’s why I’m a footballer. I’ve got to keep putting in the performances to put myself in the manager’s thoughts.”
