Huge Turnout For LCFC Santa Fun Run
Along with Academy graduate and Club legend Heskey’s involvement, there were more than a hundred members of City’s current Academy set-up in attendance to show their support.
Club Ambassador, ‘The Birch’, got into the spirit at the event and told LCFC.com: “There’s nothing funny about me being on Victoria Park at 9.30am on a Sunday morning! But seriously it’s a fantastic turnout and it’s all about the LCFC Foxes Foundation and When You Wish Upon A Star.
“It’s fantastic to see all these blue Santa suits. Jon Rudkin has got everybody out from the Academy too, all the parents and all the kids. They can ran, jogged and walked and it’s all for a good cause.
“Emile has been here too. He’s a young whippersnapper that’s just come on board with the LCFC Foxes Foundation! It’s great for the Football Club and it’s a great honour for him.”
Seeing the best and brightest from Leicester City’s Academy donning their blue Santa suits in Victoria Park was certainly a spectacle on Sunday morning, and Academy Director Rudkin was delighted to be able to help support the event.
He added: “It’s terrific. The turnout has been excellent and the atmosphere was great as we try to raise money for some wonderful causes. Hopefully they all enjoyed it.
“A few parents have come along to join in too, and I think it shows a lot about the Football Club and what we’re all about. I think it’s terrific.
“The kids with the elf hats are loving it, and we’ve got parents and staff in blue Santa suits too. It’s been a great morning and hopefully we can raise as much money as possible for the LCFC Foxes Foundation.”
